1996 Camry 5S-FE Turbo Install

Day 10

Since there's been no oil on the floor since Wednesday night's fix, we decided that's fixed with the new T.

Now we needed to find the coolant leak(s).

After carefully inspecting the engine for a while, we found two coolant hoses that run to the throttle body that we forgot to clamp. Under pressure these were probably spraying coolant all over the place.

We also found signs of coolant around the front of the engine (left side of car). After scratching our heads for a bit, we took the timing cover off and found the answer. The coolant was leaking from the water pump bolts. We replaced the pump as part of the turbo install. We did not use any sort of sealant on the bolts. So we decided to pull the bolts and seal them with some RTV.

Leak fixed! After a couple of days there was no more leaking of any sort!
